More than 2,000 years ago, the command to go and make disciples of all nations remains to this day. Every generation was given a chance to finish this single, most important task given to every Christian in every generation.
Until when will we, as Christians, take this command from our Lord and Saviour seriously? From the time of the apostles up to our present time, countless millions of lost souls have already gone towards eternity without God. The souls of the perishing cry to us daily, the hope of humanity rest upon those who profess they believe in the only Name given among men for which men can be saved (Acts 4:12). If we truly believe that Jesus Christ is the only way, the only truth and the only source of life, we would not wait until too late before we circle the globe with the message of salvation! The Gospel is the power of God for the salvation of all men (Romans 1:14). Until when are we going to realize that our life as a Christian is defined within the context of the last commission given to us by the lover and owner of our souls? Our life’s ultimate purpose is to bring as many souls as we can at the foot of the cross. To lead the way for all those who have lost their way to God, because we know the ONLY way to God is Jesus Christ! He died for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD! Until when, will we see that Jesus is the propitiation for our SINS but NOT FOR US ONLY, but also for the SINS of the WHOLE WORLD? (I John 2:2)
Every time I gazed at the crowd of countless people in Asia, I see a vast, harvest of souls waiting… waiting every day to hear the message of hope and healing that only Jesus Christ can give. These lost billions are trapped within the oppressive power of their religions, regimes that rule them and their traditions that hold them tightly. Many of them wait with eagerness the Good news found in Jesus Christ. Some of them died waiting, without ever hearing about the love of God and the Gift of salvation for all men. How can we rest knowing that thousands are heading towards eternity without God each day?
Until when will we wake up to our responsibilities as Christians? We are still here on earth because of only one reason and that is to bring the lost back to God. Our one purpose in life, our one business here on earth is to be busy with God’s business of saving souls, advancing the Kingdom of God until He comes back. This is what we should occupy our lives with until His return. Remember eternity… remember that we are not of this world and that one day, we MUST all stand before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account of our lives. Lastly, remember those who have never heard the Good News of Jesus Christ and are still waiting to hear. Until when are we going to make them wait?
